I am a fourth year PhD Student at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Salamanca (IRNASA-CSIC), in Salamanca, Spain. I am interested in the effects of drought on the physiology and biochemistry of wheat plants, the regulation of their water status and, applying multi-trait and holistic approaches linking those changes with grain yield and quality. In the Borrill lab, I aim to study the transcriptome of the flag leaf of wheat plants whose physiology, primary metabolism and antioxidant response have been previously characterized under different water deficit regimes in a climate change context.

Before starting my PhD, I completed a Master in Environmental Agrobiology at the University of Basque Country. For my final project, I studied the effect of drought on the nitrogen metabolism of barley plants and their recovery under climate change conditions.
