James Milson

PhD Student (MIBTP CASE)

I am a first year MIBTP CASE student in partnership with KWS Ltd and will be investigating heterosis in hybrid wheat, mainly how key genes behave in the heterozygous state in hybrid wheat and whether the parental plant donating the gene influences the final grain state. I completed my undergraduate degree of biochemistry with genetics at the University of Birmingham, where I undertook my final year dissertation project in the Borrill lab investigating the effect of the transcription factor NAC6 on the abiotic stress tolerance of wheat.
